About you

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our technology team at our office at Elliniko. You will be responsible for building the “client-side” of our web applications. You should be motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming, and hence able to translate our company and customer needs both on the B2B and B2C side into functional and appealing interactive applications. You will work with the UI/UX designer and the product owners and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks and works. We expect you to be a tech-savvy professional, who is curious about digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design.

You will have the chance to work with advanced technologies such as VueJs and Laravel Blade templating engine and apply them in challenging international projects.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the design and product teams to understand the goals of each project and contribute in pushing for the better solutions that deliver upon those goals
  • Translate designs to functional and appealing web applications
  • Deliver maintainable and well-crafted code to match prototypes and meet coding standards
  • Work in an environment that values and supports your personal growth
  • Gain knowledge and share it with the rest of the team
  • Evangelize best practices and collaborate with some of the best engineers in the field

Job requirements

Must have

  • Commanding knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Fluency with responsive and adaptive design production
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Familiarity with JavaScript essentials
  • An eye for detail in implementing designs
  • Willingness to ask questions and receive feedback
  • Completed military obligation (if relevant)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling
  • BSc degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
  • Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop and content management systems
  • Fluency in SASS/SCSS and/or LESS architecture for writing reusable, scalable and maintainable code
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as VueJS or ReactJS
  • Experience working with version control (git)
  • Familiarity with webpack will be appreciated
  • Any kind of portfolio of past projects will be greatly appreciated.
